A Last Hurrah…

July 31, 2012

The Avanti Team is used to putting in long days at the Beauty Factory, but this past Saturday may have broken a record for us all! After a busy morning, afternoon, and early evening spent taking care of our fabulous clients, many of us lingered behind as the final spritz of hairspray was applied and the last bobby pin inserted. With great excitement, we cleared away tables, chairs, and products in preparation for the festivities we knew would soon unfold. Within a mere hour, Avanti was party ready, complete with a DJ booth and stage for our evening’s musical entertainment.

Although the night was rainy, this did not prevent our staff, colleagues, and clients from showing up in impressive numbers to our soiree. Although we attempted to capture some of the memories via camera, pictures can only partially recreate the effervescent spirits that pervaded this event. And truly, could any picture really do justice to the glamour exhibited by so many of our staff and clients? Here are a few of our favorite looks from the evening, for your viewing pleasure. Be on the lookout for many more to soon appear on our facebook page!

Not too shabby, eh? Although it may be tempting to enthuse interminably about Laura Kuhns’s Old Hollywood beauty or John McKenna’s roguish charm, special credit must be given to our evening’s performers. DJ Jorge Serra kept the music selection upbeat and effortlessly hip while accommodating the highly social nature of the crowd. However, the excitement of the evening reached its pinnacle when R & B artist Ederson took the stage. Those in attendance were fortunate enough to enjoy the premiere of his latest music video, “Lost without your love,” and copies of his latest album were distributed to the many wishing to enjoy Ederson’s smooth vocals at home.

Like all good things, the party did eventually come to an end. Our guests stepped into their cars, boarded the T, or hurried off to the next stage in their evening plans. The sudden emptiness of the space, which seemed all the more barren due to the furniture and products we moved out of the way, drove home the fact that our days at 11 Newbury are numbered. It is with great anticipation (and yes, some bittersweet nostalgia) that we enter the final stages of the move to our new space.  This evening provided an ideal final hurrah at this our longtime hair home, and we are grateful to each and every person in attendance. We hope to continue making fond memories with you at 20 Newbury, please stay tuned for many more updates throughout the next week as we complete this transition!
