The New Straight- Pravana Straight!

May 4, 2011

Innovation in the beauty industry is lightning fast, and we’re so thankful to all the people at Pravana for creating a Keratin straightening process that isn’t harmful to our clients or stylists!  After months of minor (though still frustrating) side-effects, Avanti has ditched the old hair straighteners of yore and are now using Pravana’s innovative, formaldehyde-free, and protein enriching hair straightening treatments- and clients and stylists alike are thrilled with the results!

Last week, our dear client Emily decided it was high time that she tame her curly, frizzy tresses, which would allow her to breeze through her morning routine without having to waste time blow-drying and flat ironing her curly blonde hair.  Her stylist, the ever-lovely Louise Chobanian, recommended she try the Perfection SmoothOut treatment, which is a Nano-Amino Complex that changes the textural memory of the hair follicle, transforming it into sleek, smooth, and soft hair.

When used with a sulfate and salt-free shampoo and conditioner, the effects of the Perfection SmoothOut can last 8-12 weeks. Emily was thrilled with her soft, straight hair, and all of us in the salon are delighted to have such an effective service available to clients without having to worry about health risks!  We also love the Perfection SmoothOut because clients can color and/or shampoo their hair immediately after receiving the treatment, without mitigating the effectiveness of the service, making it extra-appealing to people who work out regularly and need to wash their hair.

In addition to the Perfection SmoothOut, we’re offering two other curl-managing treatments from Pravana: the Keratin Glazing and the Keratin Fusion Texture Control.

A Keratin Glazing is a blowout treatment that calms curls without straightening them entirely.  It’s perfect for clients looking to eliminate some frizz, define their curls and bring health to their entire head of hair.  It lasts 6-8 weeks, and is safe for all hair types.

The Keratin Fusion Texture Control is the most rigorous of the three treatments, and can eliminate up to 85% of a client’s curl.  This procedure is far more permanent and greatly reduces styling time for the extra-curly ladies out there.  However, to protect the integrity of the follicle, this treatment is not recommended for clients who have used other brands of straightening treatments in the past, or who have high-lift color.

As always, we strongly encourage anyone who is interested in straightening their curls to arrange a face-to-face consultation with a stylist so we can recommend the right treatment just for you!  To learn more about this terrific new product, or to schedule an appointment, please don’t hesitate to call us at 617.267.4027.

And right now, Louise Chobanian is offering 20% off to all first-time clients who book a straightening appointment with her!  Just mention that you read about the service on the blog…

Interesting…The results seem great, however, Perfection isn’t a straightner…it is a professional smoothing treatment. Also the “hair follicle” is inside the scalp??? Did you mean the cuticle or the internal bond of the hair strand?
It’s a little frustrating when professionals mis represent this service.
